DO: Visit El Chalten, small town, big experience.
DO, IF YOU HAVE TIME: Do a glacier hike. You won't experience this anywhere else, but you can find glaciers on your own if you venture down to El Chalten.
DO(N'T) DO, AKA SKIP: Bird Reserve (Reserva Laguna Nimez), you have to pay to look at birds (flamingos) that you can see from outside the reserve. I'd skip it.
ADVICE: Cash is king, bring cash, these places don't take credit. Oh and by the way, there is no cash in the ATM.
DO: Visit La Brigada, steak you can cut with a spoon. Enough said. Ok one more thing, listen to them when they upsell you on the wine. Trust me, it's worth it. Malbec from Mendoza - awesome.
DO, IF YOU HAVE TIME: Cementario de la Recoleta. Pretty cool cemetery where you can see Evita's resting place. Also there is a pretty large outdoor market there with some good shopping and eats.
DO(N'T) DO, AKA SKIP: La Boca, this place is a tourist trap and is really only a street or two of "colorful" homes. I'd skip it.
ADVICE: Everything opens late and everyone stays out late. Looking for a lunch spot at 11:30am - don't try they probably won't open till 12:00pm and even if they say they open at 12:00pm go at 12:30pm. Dinner, you ask, don't even try to eat until at least 8:00pm.
